Durability

Our Durability Test: Outstream vs. Hydro Flask

At Outstream, we don’t just claim our water bottles are durable; we prove it. We conducted a rigorous test to compare the resilience of our 24 oz Outstream water bottles against the popular Hydro Flask. Here’s what we did and what we found:

The Test:
We wanted to simulate real-life scenarios where water bottles are most likely to suffer damage. So, we dropped two full 24 oz water bottles - one from Outstream and one Hydro Flask - from three different heights to see how they would fare. (See video at bottom of the page) Each bottle was dropped once on the bottom and once on the side from the following heights:

1. Hip Height (~3 feet): Mimicking the most common drop scenario.
2. 3 Feet: A little higher, testing increased impact.
3. 5 Feet: To push the limits and simulate an accidental fall from a higher point.

Results

The Results:

• Hydro Flask: Showed damage at every height. The impacts left visible dents and deformations on the bottle, both when dropped on the bottom and on the side.
• Outstream Water Bottle: Emerged unscathed. Our bottle withstood drops from all heights without any visible damage or functional impairment.
